It’s no secret: Fran Tarkenton holds a special place in my heart and wholesale nfl jerseys holds a special place in NFL history too. He was one of the most significant quarterbacks to ever play the game. For that reason, I’ve often found myself wondering if he is in the NFL hall of fame.
My jaw dropped the first time I heard that he wasn’t. It seemed so wrong and I was filled with such disbelief. I’d seen his courage and his ability to make clutch plays many times. Sure, cheap nfl jerseys Fran was known as an outspoken critic of the NFL at times, cheap nfl jerseys but surely that shouldn’t have made much of a difference.
After doing some further research, I found that Fran Tarkenton never died down in his passion for the NFL. The truth is – he was a part of two Super Bowl teams, won three NFL Passing Titles and was the most prolific quarterback in NFL history. He could have been one of the greatest quarterbacks to have ever set foot on an NFL field, if not for the fact that his teams were routinely knocked out in the playoffs.
As if that wasn’t enough, Fran’s career marked many firsts. He was the first quarterback to finish the season with a passer rating above 100, the first to complete three consecutive pass completions, and the first to throw for wholesale jerseys from china over 3,000 yards in a single season. Even today, he remains the only player in the NFL to have thrown for more than 40,000 yards and rushed for cheap jerseys from china more than 3,000 yards.
I was so moved by his accomplishments and wholesale nfl jerseys felt such admiration for the game he played that I was convinced he belonged in the Hall of Fame. But it wasn’t until much later that I discovered why Fran Tarkenton had never been inducted. Despite his name being on the ballot for cheap jerseys more than 20 years, the Hall of Fame kept giving others the nod ahead of him. Unfortunately, the biggest issue seemed to be the race game that started taking hold of the NFL.
Fran Tarkenton was a huge believer in the idea that any race should have the same opportunity as any other – both in life and in football – which led to him raising questions on how the NFL was being run. That mostly caused a rift between him and those in power and although his career is impressive, it seems that the Hall of Fame never let him in for it.
Today, nearly 45 years since his retirement, Fran Tarkenton has still not been offered membership to the Hall of Fame but there is chance that it can change. Despite the reasons to why he has not been included, I firmly believe that Fran Tarkenton deserves it more than anyone else. His contributions to the game of American Football have been immense and his potential to be honoured as a hall of famer has been there ever since he hung up his boots in 1978.
In over 40 years, Fran’s accomplishments have been overlooked, and cheap jerseys I’m personally calling for the Hall of Fame to recognise the magnitude of his career. His contribution to the sport has been something rare and wholesale jerseys his iconic battles with some of the greatest defences in the history of the NFL should be remembered forever.
